JOB SUMMARY: 
Shipping and Receiving Supervisor should have a working knowledge of manufacturing and/or shipping, receiving, or logistics industry.  Will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the shipping, receiving, and materials department.  Will be responsible for the training and development activities of shipping, receiving, and material specialists and handlers.  Supervisor will focus on leading team in meeting expectations of Cost, Morale, Quality, Safety, and Delivery.  Responsible for providing support to sales personnel, customer service reps, inventory control team, purchasing, and production. 
 
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Assign duties and examine work for exactness and conformances to policies & procedures
  • Train new and existing specialists in proper shipping, receiving, and material applications as designated by VIAM
  • Ensure proper operation and execution of all warehouse functions
  • Plan and direct the workflow of the warehouse to ensure the site meets all requirements
  • Quality inspection of packaging, labels, containers, and pallets
  • Enforce safety regulations for forklift associates and freight carrier associates
  • Supervise and manage shipping, receiving, and material specialists
  • Issue written and oral instructions
  • Maintain time tracking in e-Time system
  • Maintain harmony among workers and resolve conflicts proactively by gathering information, mediating, implementing solutions, and follow-up as needed
  • Acts as liaison between sales, customer service, inventory control, and production teams.
  • Understands 3S and strives for improvement
  • Responsible for completing IIP requirements
  • Responsible for maintaining working procedures
  • Leads cycle count teams and investigates items out of tolerance immediately
  • Report issues to upper management
  • Mentor, monitor, and report on subordinates performance
 
 
 
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Liaison between associates and Human Resource
  • JSOX Internal Auditor
  • Participation in Admin STAR point meeting
 
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 4-year Management Degree or equivalent experience in Shipping, Receiving, and/or Materials
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have strong organization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Hands on, energetic, and motivated self starter
  • Must have strong leadership skills and should manage with a flexible leadership style
