SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES : Every team member of the Crew is charged with bringing our strategic vision of diversified technology to life. Work in the IT department in Infrastructure to provide and maintain highly specialized information technology solutions for C Spire’s private cloud services and commercial data center and cloud services. Perform a variety of administrative and technical work using defined standards, constraints and system requirements to manage the infrastructure of the corporate enterprise including security, planning, designing, maintaining, troubleshooting, performance tuning, upgrading and system management in production, test, and development environments. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Senior System Administrator: Baccalaureate degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent experience with infrastructure hardware and software systems. Minimum of six years of Information Technology experience required in a production or equivalent environment. Proven in-depth knowledge of UNIX, Linux operating systems required. Experience with multiple versions of UNIX/Linux required. Proven ability to install, configure, manage, and troubleshoot physical and virtual environments. Intimate knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating systems required. Proven ability to install hardware and software, and write/debug scripts, i.e., Perl, PHP, Python, Power Shell, etc. In-depth knowledge of networking, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery. Possess sufficient knowledge and experience to assist management in setting infrastructure hardware and software systems strategy. Multiple years of experience as a technical lead with enterprise-class infrastructure systems expected, including working with systems and/or storage virtualization technologies. Technical lead experience should also include supervising and mentoring junior staff and functioning as an interface with other IT and business units. Linux, UNIX certifications expected. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Background must demonstrate the ability to operate effectively within a complex, dynamic environment with minimal supervision. Must be able to lift 65 pounds and work with various hand tools. Must be able to sit for long periods and use computer keyboard and/or mouse while viewing computer screen. Must be willing to work flexible schedule, which could include nights and weekends.
