This is a unique position.  It can be contract, contract to perm or full time/permanent.
The “non traditional” data is a must.

Must Have: (Do Not Apply Unless You Meet This Requirement)
- experience in relational databases, data warehouses and non relational databases
- must have dealt with traditional time based count data and non traditional data like images, documents etc

Job Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related field
  • Over 5 years work experience in databases that includes SQL and noSQL databases like Oracle, Postgres, MongoDB
  • Experience with data warehousing
  • Excellent Problem Solving and Troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with all aspects of SQL programming, MySQL and MSSQL
  • Able to work in tight deadlines, handle multiple projects and rapidly changing environments
  • Willingness to keep up-to date with developments in new technology
  • Ability to maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and customers
  • Experience in Machine Learning area with handling of large amount of unstructured data that can be stored, accessed and managed in the most efficient manner
  • Experience in Big Data technologies and able to handle large volumes of structured and unstructured data
  • Familiar with both UNIX and Windows environments
Job Description:
Establish the needs of users and monitoring user access and security
Responsible for availability and performance of databases that support company systems
Provide 24x7 support for production systems
Map out the conceptual design for a planned database
Consider both back-end organization of data that includes tables, indexes, joins, stored procedures, views, triggers etc and front-end accessibility for end-users
Refine the logical design so that it can be translated into a specific data model
Further refining the physical design to meet system storage requirements
Install, test and manage multiple versions of the database management system (DBMS) in all environments : development, QA and production
Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata)
Control access permissions and privileges
Develop, manage and test back-up and recovery plans
Ensure that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly
Carry out capacity planning
Work closely with IT project managers and developers
Assist developers with SQL tuning/optimization
Communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security
Manage the security and disaster recovery aspects of a database
